Real-time interactive installation
Year: 2025

I started this project with a simple setup: one computer screen, a Kinect camera, and a Spiderman toy standing in front of it. I used my phone to film while the Kinect tracked my face, making the 3D visuals shift to always hit that perfect angle — the sweet spot. It was a small idea, but it showed me what was possible.

Then we took things to another level in Serbia. Picture this: three walls and a ceiling covered in displays, wrapping around me as the new subject — no more Spiderman. A VR Vive joystick tracked the camera, letting the visuals move with it. It felt like stepping into a whole new world where the environment reacted to every angle.

The real magic happened with TouchDesigner, the software powering it all. My laptop ran visuals that danced to the music in real time. The performer stood in front of the camera, the cameraman used a VR joystick to follow, and the camera’s view showed that perfect sweet-spot angle, all live. No need for fancy post-production effects — everything you saw was happening right then and there.

We also made the performer part of the show. Using Kinect, their movements controlled particles on the display walls, like they were painting with light. It was awesome to see their energy shape the visuals in real time.

In Los Angeles, we went bigger. We added a floor screen and swapped the VR joystick for a high-accuracy MoSys tracker on camera. The screens were larger, the visuals sharper, and we tested all kinds of effects to make sure the setup could handle anything.

The big moment came with a test run featuring Gunna. VJs worked the effects, Gunna performed his song live, and the cameraman captured it all. The visuals pulsed with the music, the tracking kept every shot perfect, and it felt like a glimpse into the future of live performances.

This project started as a spark and grew into something that blends tech and art in a way that feels alive
